The Birth of Bodhi and Cruz – Goulburn Valley Health – Shepparton

Tash really kept me on my toes through her pregnancy, with pre term birth threats and a stay in hospital. But in the end Tash and Caleb’s boys made kept their date with the hospital and arrived without incident via cesarean section.

Unfortunately I have not been given photographic access to surgical birth at Goulburn Valley Health despite requests from all of my cesarean section mums!! I really would love for the Obstetricians to begin to empathise with these women who miss out of capturing the moment their babies are born even though it is something that is very important to my clients. Birth is beautiful no matter the method. Many women are choosing to give birth using obstetricians and via surgery and after deciding to hire a birth photographer to capture the moments they meet their brand new baby it can be disheartening to miss the very moments.

I do know that there may be a midwife given a camera to capture their baby to keep mum’s support person hands free to be by mum’s side during or after the surgery, but I am not going to lie, the results are not very good (sorry to all my midwife friends, I love what you do 🙂 ) and after my clients pay for professional photographs it can be disappointing to have blurry photos of their new babies.

Honestly i could go on, but that’s another blog post 😉

Please enjoy this Mothers Day addition to my blog….
